Jan week 1 crafts

This year I’ve decided to post more crafts than just sewing.  I say a fun page in another group that was a coloring page to color one square for each day of the month you did a craft.  That inspired me to try to craft something daily.  I just got a new cricut and it is easier to get something done there than try to do a sewing project so I decided to branch out.  So these are my projects for the year so far.

Jan 1made a cute music sticker on my cricut. My cricut was new and I had some svg files that I got when I bought a package of png files.  So I learned how to import an svg file.  I didn’t get it to release form the transfer paper onto the wall though,  it is still on the wall of my music room half one the wall and half still stuck to the transfer papers. Here is what the sticker looks like.  So much weeding I really want it to stick to the wall.  I think the orange peel ont he wall maes it not stick well.

Jan 2 - I learned to cut leather on the cricut.  I cut out a keychain lip balm holder.  Did not finish.  I wasn’t sure o the size, but it got cut out.
Jan 3 I started sewing the keychains and Jan 4 I finished them.  They were a gift for my running friends.  We are the herd so do cow theme stuff quite regularly.
Here they are all.  I filled them with some of my favorite chocolate mint chapstick that I make.

Jan 5 I tried to make another keychain out of some scrap leather I had from cutting out a purse.  That failed miserably.  I looked it up and I think I need a Teflon foot, but I’m going to try tape on the bottom of my foot or tissue paper over the leather first to see if that helps the problem I had with it feeding correctly. Sadly this day I also went to my class on how to use my machine.  Sadly this problem didn’t occur until after the class.

Thursday I also learned how to do heat transfer vinyl on my cricut.  I had cut the bear out when I did my introductory class on the cricut.  I got the c and the bag with my heat press.

Friday I cut out a little panda on the cricut.  Lilys table is called panda table and she wanted a sticker to put on her table at school so before school we got this cut out and se took it with her to school.  Below is what he looked like.  I didn’t take a pic.

Saturday I finally did my 52 weeks of sewing project and made a jar opener with scraps I had.  Goal was make something from scraps this week.  I was going to use the keychain out of scraps but when that didn’t turn out I had to fixture something else out,
Today I wanted to do something with Lily.  She picked making earrings on the cricut.  We had some issues with the glittery faux leather.  It would t stick at all to the mat so it isn’t Buffett.  Thankfully the white on top helps hide the imperfections.
