So not sure how I haven’t posted since January. I was called as RS president at the end of that month and my number of clients increased so I haven’t had nearly as much sewing time but I swear I posted in February. I guess not. Here is the rundown of things I’ve made since January -in no apparent order because that is how they decided to upload and I’m too lazy to change it.
I finished this purse back in March on the actual week that was sew a bag of wallet. I had been working on this for months. I started it last year but my sewing machine broke. When I got back to it i had to get new faux leather for the strap because they had been clipped too long. Then as I was working I kept finding new pieces of hardware I was missing - even down to zipper pulls at the end. Had the zipper - no pulls. The last bit of missing items was the binding. Luckily that only required a trip to Hobby Lobby and I finally finished the bag. I love it. It is a great size and I can never believe that I made it.
I made this for Lily for Valentine’s Day but forgot to give it to her until after Valentine’s Day facepalm🤦♀️
She loves it though. Same pattern I had pattern tested that she is so fond of because it shows her belly when she lifts her arms. Ugh!
I finished this in February and thought I wouldn’t be able to use it this year because it was a warm February but we got a few more cold days and I was able to use it.
This is my latest shirt. I just finished it yesterday. I’m still debating doing the sew the alphabet at Sinclair - I may do some but not all of it. This is my B - the pattern is called Brooke (I think)
I just did the vinyl here. Made this for a client of mine that has been with me a couple of years.
This was a buy on a whim and has quickly become one of my favorite shirts. I made my favorite raglan pattern for make your favorite patter and 52 weeks. I accidentally cut it on the v neck line, but am really happy with how this turned out. I’ve used this pattern tons for sweatshirts but never for a t-shirt.
Another shirt I made for a client.
This is my latest Mommy/Daughter set. Lily loves tigers, so this seemed like fun. Fabric is made from recycled water bottles. I love that. This pattern is my letter A for Sinclair sew the alphabet. It is named Alana. I love that it has pockets and was easy to color block because this was retail at Sew Dynamic and there was only so much of each fabric. I love how it turned out. I’ll keep it for a long time. Lily will grow out of it by next year.
This was a fun make - I wanted new long pants for work but black gets boring. I got this panel from The Styled Magnolia and went to work figuring out which pattern I could use to make the flowers go down one leg (they are in a wavy pattern on the print). I also wanted one leg all black to justify using them as work pants. I was left with the skull from the other side of the panel so I made a matching tank top. I used a striped mesh on the back with criss cross straps to be used as my 52 weeks something with an interesting back.
I had to sew something with batting. I really wasn’t enthused and had picked a small narwhal made out of a sock but couldn’t make myself want to do it. Then I stumbled across this pattern that I had downloaded free from Patterns for Pirates a while ago and decided to make a poop emoji for Lily. She loves this emoji for some reason. Too many brothers I think.
This is my pilates shirt. Red because my regular work shirt is red. I originally bought this shirt in a medium to fit my shoulders then took it in in the sides before adding the vinyl.
I feel like I have made more than this but this is what I see with pictures right now. I did make another purse that I finished last week. I also have a shirt that I will finish today - it just needs a hem and other topstitching. I also am working on pattern testing a no waste pattern. That has been interesting but not super successful as far as fit goes. I need to go see if I can resurrect them somehow. They were originally for Duncan but the shirt is way too feminine looking. The pants could be ok, but they are too tight in the crotch. I’m going to see if there is any way to make them wearable.
